The Treadlightly Trust is a Registered Charity in the UK (Reg No 1133154) which sets out to protect motorised recreational access opportunities through education, partnership working, and conservation initiatives.

It was set up in 2009 with grant funding from the Welsh Government through what was then Countryside Council for Wales (CCW) and is now Natural Resources Wales (NRW).

treadlightly! (UK) works with motorised users, groups, clubs and forums with the intention of influencing users to adopt the treadlightly! ethos and reduce the incidence of environmental damage and nuisance.

treadlightly! works through regional Ambassadors to help to spread the word and engage with users. If you would be interested in finding out more about becoming a treadlightly! Ambassador then please contact us via email (info@treadlightly-uk.org) for more information.

The treadlightly! programme is fully endorsed and supported by the main User Groups in the UK – The Green Lane Association (GLASS) https://www.glass-uk.org, Trailer Riders and Land Access and Recreation Association (LARA) https://https://laragb.org/

Treadlightly was originally founded by the US Forest Service and  is now operated in the US by Tread Lightly! Inc.  If you wish to see the achievements in the USA click here:  https://www.treadlightly.org/about-us/

The Treadlightly Trust has an exclusive licence to use the concept in the UK.
